French
Prepare for a globalized world with experience in French language and culture
The Williams French program offers diverse courses in French and Francophone language, literature, and culture, whether you want to improve your spoken French, prepare for study abroad, or learn more about the rich traditions of French literature and cinema. You’ll further build your understanding of French language and culture at film festivals, poetry slams, political debates and discussion tables. Each year, the program hosts two Teaching Assistants from France who lead discussion sections and offer extracurricular programs in French, such as radio shows, dinners, French TV5 sitcom nights and weekend trips to Montréal.
Study Abroad
Complement your French studies—and earn course credits towards your major or certificate program—while you live, intern and study abroad in France, Switzerland, Morocco and Sénégal.
For Current Students
Current students can log in to access French language and culture resources, information on the placement test and academic plan, advising support and more.
