Advising & Support

We Have Your Back

Williams is a tight-knit community—and that means we’re always looking out for one another. Advising is built into the academic experience starting before you even get to campus.

Your first-year adviser will reach out over the summer and at key points during the year. Faculty mentorship is accessible and organic, meaning you’ll always have someone to turn to for advice on declaring a major, career pathways, studying away and other opportunities. And we have a team of peer mentors—students who have been in your shoes—who can help you along the way.

A Little Help From Your Friends

    Peer Academic Support

A Williams education is meant to be challenging—but you’re also not on your own to figure it out. We offer tutoring, workshops and other services, often led by your fellow students.

    The Writing Center

Clear and effective writing is at the heart of a liberal arts education. Get help brainstorming ideas, honing your skills, revising drafts and clarifying your arguments.

    Content Tutors

Content tutors can help you clarify concepts, practice material and build confidence in a specific course—often with the help of students who have been there before you.

    Quantitative Skills Programs

At Williams, you’ll learn to use numbers and data confidently, apply study methods to draw new conclusions and discover exciting research tools. We get that this might be new, and we’re here to help you make sense of it all.
