For the academic year 2006-2007 I will be visiting the Department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering at Princeton University as the William R. Kenan Jr. Visiting Professor for Distinguished Teaching.

For the academic year 2005-2006 I was a visiting professor at  the UFR Biomédicale at the Université René Descartes in Paris, France.

For the academic year 2001-2002 I visited the Probability and Statistics Laboratory at the Université Paul Sabatier in Toulouse, France.

 In 1997 –1998, I visited the Biometry Unit of I.N.R.A (the French Agricultural Institute) in Montpellier, France.
 

Research Interests

I am an applied statistician interested in data mining methodology and its application to problems in science and industry. These methods include artificial neural networks, and such techniques as decision trees, MARS, and boosting algorithms such as MART. I am also interested in model selection and other problems for large data sets.
