Additional Applicant Information

Every Path Is Different

Students come to Williams from countless different backgrounds, pathways and academic journeys. What do they share in common? They’re intellectually curious, eager to collaborate and interact with a tight-knit community, excited to explore this beautiful region surrounded by mountains and prepared to enter a rigorous academic environment that will challenge and support them.

If this sounds like you, we encourage you to find out more about applying to Williams—and the resources available to you once you’re here.

Veterans

Williams welcomes applicants who have served our country, including both active-duty U.S. military service members and veterans. In many cases, our financial aid exceeds that provided by veterans’ benefit programs.

We take a holistic approach to admissions and encourage you to share as much as possible about your experience, but we know your background might not fit neatly into a standard application. If you have questions at any point during the process, email Associate Director of Admission Dean Mendes. You can also access application counseling, peer-to-peer guidance and networking support through our partnership with Service to School (S2S).

International

Williams invites the brightest minds from around the world. Our students come from more than 100 countries, and international students—students who, regardless of country of residence, don’t hold U.S. citizenship, permanent residency or a green card—make up 10% of our student body.

Williams is proud to be among the small handful of schools that have launched the Global Student Haven Initiative (GSHI), which seeks to remove barriers in the college application process for talented students who are displaced by war, political conflict, catastrophic natural disasters or other crises. Impacted students should not hesitate to reach out.

If you have questions at any point during the process, email Associate Director of Admission Dean Mendes.

Undocumented and DACA-Designated Applicants

If you’re an undocumented student or have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals status, we invite you to apply as a domestic applicant through our need-blind admission process. Williams meets 100% of demonstrated financial need for all undocumented and DACA-designated students—just as we do for every admitted student.

If you have questions about how to apply as an undocumented or DACA student, please contact Senior Assistant Director of Admission Calen Firedancing. For questions about applying for financial aid and affording Williams, contact Director of Student Financial Services Ashley Bianchi.
