Students of Asian American Studies have several ways to learn more about and engage more deeply with the field and the communities surrounding it, both at Williams and beyond.

Asian American Students in Action (AASiA)

AASiA is a student organization that fosters and executes political action among Asian and Asian American students at Williams. Members form project-based committees for community building and political change, supporting the organization’s efforts to build a politicized pan-Asian community that organizes around community and institutional change.

Asian and Asian American Alumni Association Network (WAAAAN)

WAAAAN’s mission is to forge lifelong relationships among Asian and Asian American alumni; to preserve and enrich the bond between Asian and Asian American alumni and the College; to encourage discussion and awareness of issues and concerns facing the Asian and Asian American community within and outside of the College; and to promote social justice alongside other Williams alumni networks.

You can join the WAAAAN Listserv to find out about events and initiatives, or contact WAAAAN at ephwaaaan@gmail.com.

Association for Asian American Studies (AAAS)

AAAS is the official professional association for the field of Asian American Studies. It hosts a conference every spring, publishes the field’s flagship academic journal (Journal of Asian American Studies, or JAAAS), and acts as a clearinghouse for issues and topics relevant to scholars, as well as community organizations and artists.
