Williams provides students with unparalleled opportunities and prepares them for exceptional careers once they leave the purple bubble. The Williams experience is lifelong, as alumni and parents continue to support one another and current students in many recognizable ways.
Support from family and friends
Each year, nearly 17,500 people support the college financially through gifts to the Alumni Fund and Parents Fund. Their gifts total almost $13 million and represent about 6% of Williams’ annual operating budget.
Thanks to the generosity of alumni and parents and healthy growth of the college’s endowment, no Williams student ever pays the full price of his or her education. It costs over $90,000 a year to educate a single student at Williams, which means all students, regardless of financial aid status, receive a subsidy of about $28,500 each year.
More information on the impact of the financial support of Williams families can be found here.
The power and value of the Williams network is legendary. Members of the Williams community share instant recognition of a common experience and a desire to support one another. Whether seeking career advice, contemplating a career transition, or exploring a new direction, Williams alumni are eager to help one another succeed. Many serve as volunteer career mentors, offer internships in their specific industries, or are simply a friendly face when you move to a new town.
Williams alumni continue to support each other and show their purple pride long after commencement. Class notes, photos, and more can be found in Williams People, and alumni keep up to date on the on-campus activities through the Williams Magazine and The Williams Record.
