Native American & Indigenous Studies
Engaging with diverse Indigenous perspectives
Native American & Indigenous Studies (NAIS) is an interdisciplinary field that explores the histories, philosophies, and lived experiences of Indigenous peoples in North America and across the globe. Through this coordinate program, you will engage with diverse Indigenous perspectives across fields such as history, literature, environmental science, art, anthropology, religion and law.
Stockbridge-Munsee Community
Williams College is located on the homelands of the Stockbridge-Munsee Mohican people. The NAIS program affirms the importance of acknowledging place and history while striving toward ethical educational practices that respect Indigenous sovereignty.
