January at Williams is Winter Study, a welcome change of pace between semesters. Every student does something for the month, but the options vary widely and are a matter of personal choice.
Whether students choose to take courses pass/fail from the eclectic Winter Study curriculum, pursue collaborative or independent research, find an internship, or travel, they almost always stretch beyond their comfort zones. By the time the spring semester rolls around, they’re recharged, refocused, and ready to dive back into their studies. Some recent Winter Study courses included: Animal Tracking, Bias in Computing, Geometry in Stained Glass, Law as a Tool for Social Justice, Podcast Production and Zimbabwean Music Collaboration.
