PEACe Office/ Office of Intimate Violence Prevention & Response
The PEACe Office/OIVPR is dedicated to fostering a safe and respectful community through behavioral change and cultural transformation, providing prevention education, survivor advocacy, and systemic interventions to combat intimate and power-based violence. By promoting these vital shifts, the PEACe Office/OIVPR aims to cultivate a safer and more equitable campus environment, where all individuals can thrive free from the threat of intimate, gender, and power-based violence.
What We Do:
Prevention Education & Outreach
We empower students and the community with knowledge and skills to foster healthy relationships, recognize harm, and take action. Through workshops, training, and outreach, we create a culture of care and accountability.
Advocacy & Support Services
You are not alone. We provide trauma-informed support, crisis intervention, and connections to essential resources, ensuring that survivors have the care and advocacy they deserve.
Community Engagement & Collaboration
Change happens when we work together. We partner with student organizations, faculty, staff, and community groups to build leadership, strengthen response efforts, and create lasting change.
We aim to:
- Increase Awareness of Intimate and Power-Based Violence (PBV)
- Expand outreach efforts through digital and in-person educational initiatives.
- Develop campaigns to challenge cultural norms that perpetuate violence.
- Increase visibility of advocacy support services for survivors.
- Equip Individuals with Prevention and Intervention Strategies
- Train students, faculty, and staff in harm reduction techniques, bystander intervention techniques, and community development.
- Provide educational programs on consent, healthy relationships, and safety.
- Implement peer-led initiatives to encourage student involvement in violence prevention.
- Foster a Culture of Respect and Safety
- Advocate for institutional policies that support survivors, survivor advocacy, and community healing
- Build partnerships with local organizations to strengthen community responses to Intimate, Gender, and Power-Based Violence.
- Encourage ongoing dialogue around gender equity, trauma-informed care, and collective responsibility.
Together, we are shaping a safer, more equitable campus where everyone can thrive.
