From Soccer to Rugby, Kristi Kirshe ’17 Excels

Kristi Kirshe ’17 loved sports, playing in any youth league available during her childhood, zoning in on soccer, basketball and lacrosse in high school and focusing on soccer at Williams, becoming an All-American forward.

Once she graduated and life no longer revolved around sports, she felt something was missing. Then she found rugby.

She hadn’t played rugby since she was a kid, but with the athletic skill she has honed throughout her life, she picked it up quickly, helping the U.S. win a silver medal at the Pan American Games in Peru. Now she hopes to make her way to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
