Celebrating Polish-American Heritage

The U.S. Department of State featured Assistant Professor of Theatre Omar Sangare in a video project that accompanied President Obama on his trip to Poland in May 2011. These mini-documentaries depict Polish Americans  who are proud of their heritage and have made substantial contributions to innovation, creativity and vibrancy in the U.S.

The three  pieces on Sangare cover his career as an actor, director, writer, producer, and educator. The films, which contain footage from rehearsals with Williams students and at the Atlantic Theater in New York City, highlight Sangare’s international accomplishments as valuable cross-cultural models for contemporary artists and scholars.

The videos have been posted on the official YouTube channel AmericaGOV and on the American embassy in Warsaw’s website.
