The Chinese Government Scholarship, sponsored by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), provides students from all over the world with a fully funded opportunity to study in China. The scholarship allows students to either study Mandarin in a non-degree university-affiliated language training center or pursue a master’s or doctoral degree in a degree-granting program (in Chinese or English) at one of the 115 universities and colleges located all over China that are approved by CSC. The scholarship term is either one academic year (from September 2023 to July 2024) or multiple years (starting from September 2023) if the applicant chooses to pursue a degree. Graduating seniors who wish to study in China are strongly encouraged to apply. No previous study in Mandarin is required. Open to all. Information about the programs that accept the Chinese Government Scholarship and the application portal can be found here. Please read the linked files for more detailed instructions. The application portal is open now and the deadline to apply is January 30, 2023. Interested students who have questions about the scholarship or the application process can contact Prof. Li Yu, Chair of the Department of Asian Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, via email at [email protected].
