CCE 21 offers students the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom by providing substantive applied learning experiences focusing on issues such as, non-profit/community service, government/policy/law, environment, education, racial justice/social justice & many more!

Develop Your Own Winter Internship and Submit a CCE 21 Application via Airtable

  • Students accepting one of the CCE 21 Winter Study Internships from the CCE 21 Pre-Approved Employer List on the live spreadsheet will be automatically enrolled in our winter study course prior to the official winter study course registration period. These winter internships have the 1st priority.  All students submitting applications to CCE 21 Pre-Approved Employers must complete:
    The CCE 21 Pre-Approved Employer Eligibility Form. Upon completion of the form, you will receive a confirmation email stating that you are eligible to apply.  You must create a PDF of this email and upload this document to each application you submit to a Pre-Approved CCE 21 Employer on Handshake. 
    Students can identify their own winter internships and submit CCE 21 Student Self-Sourced Winter Internship applications via Airtable.  Please note:  Before submitting these applications, students must have accepted full-time winter internships (35-40 hours per week) during the January 2025 Winter Study Term from Monday, January 6, 2025 -Friday, January 31, 2025.
    Your internship supervisor must develop meaningful projects/assignments with specific learning goals/objectives and deliverables throughout the January 2025 Winter Study Term.  Your supervisor must provide ongoing mentorship and guidance throughout your winter internship by:
      1. Building and supporting an effective relationship with you-Your supervisor can talk with you about your learning goals and objectives and how your supervisor can help you succeed;
      2. Facilitating reflective thinking-Asking thought-provoking questions to facilitate learning and asking reflective questions to encourage self-awareness of learning/growth opportunities.
      3. Providing you with objective guidance and feedback on a regular basis  (preferred weekly).
    Your CCE 21 Student Self-Sourced Winter Internship Application will be reviewed when all documents have been submitted, the CCE 21 Student Self-Sourced Winter Internship Application, your resume, and the Winter Internship Supervisor Verification Form submitted by your supervisor.  When you submit your CCE 21 Application, your winter internship supervisor will receive an email from me requesting that the Supervisor Verification Form be completed and submitted within 3 days of receipt.
    Students submitting completed applications will be notified of their status by early November, prior to the official Winter Study Course Registration Period.
    • Please note: Since Winter Study Courses are a requirement for graduation, the Winter Study Committee does not allow students to receive a salary or weekly pay for winter study internships. Stipends are allowed, but winter study employers are not required to offer this option to students.
    • All first-years, sophomores, juniors, and seniors must be currently enrolled in the 2024 Fall Semester, intend to enroll in the 2025 Spring Semester, and must adhere to the Williams College Code of Conduct.
    • The Application Deadlines for CCE 21 Winter Internship Applications for CCE Pre-Approved Employers and Student Self-Sourced Winter internships via Handshake and Airtable are:
      • Application Deadline #1-Sunday, October 13, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. (EDT)
      • Application Deadline #2-Accepting new Student Self-Sourced Winter Internship Applications Wednesday, October 16, 2024-Sunday, October 27, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. 
      • Final Application Deadline #3-Accepting new Student Self-Sourced Winter Internship Applications Wednesday, October 30, 2024-Sunday, November 17, 2024.
    • Winter Internships that are on-site, hybrid or remote can located in the United States or abroad.  Students will work on project(s) or other assignments for 5 days per week, 35-40 hours per week during the January 2025 Winter Study Term from Monday, 01/06/2025 - Friday, 01/31/2025.  Students are not allowed to leave the winter study internship early.
    • Please note:  If you are traveling abroad for your winter internship, I am required to check the U. S. Department of State Travel Advisory List.  If the country is classified as a Level 3 Warning-Reconsider Travel, or a Level 4 Warning-Do Not Travel, you will be required to submit a supplemental document with details concerning your safety/housing information and your travel schedule while you are located in this country.  Your CCE 21 Student Self-Sourced Winter Internship Application, the CCE 21 Winter Internship Supervisor Verification Form, your resume, and your supplemental document will be submitted to our Senior Staff for review.
    • You are not eligible to apply for SPEC 21 Winter Internships for the following reasons:
      • You are studying away/abroad for the 2024-2025 academic year or if you are studying away/abroad during the 2025 Spring Semester.
      • You have applied for and are enrolling in the Williams Mystic Program during the 2025 Spring Semester.
      • You are taking a language sustaining course during the January 2025 Winter Study Term.
      • You are enrolling in a Physical Education Class during the January 2025 Winter Study Term.
      • If you submit an application for a January 2025 Winter Study Travel Course, and you are accepted into this course, the travel course takes priority over any other winter study course. You understand that you must immediately notify Dawn Dellea, Manager of Alumni & Parent Engagement Programs at the '68 Center for Career Exploration and the CCE 21 Pre-Approved Employer or the Student Self-Sourced Winter Internship employer that you are no longer eligible for a CCE 21 Winter Internship.
    • Please note: If you are submitting a Student Self-Sourced Winter Internship, the President/ Co-Founder/Owner of the organization must not be a currently enrolled college student, and your supervisor must have worked full-time for two years. Full-time experience does not include full-time summer internships while attending college.
      • In addition, if your Organization has limited information on their web page, or if the Organization does not have a web page, it is difficult to evaluate your application.  As a result, you will not be approved to enroll in CCE 21 Career Exploration:  Winter Study Internships!
    • If first-year students have confirmed full-time winter internships (remote or on-location), they are required to live on-campus during the entire Winter Study term. On-location winter internships must be local (within Berkshire County).
    • Important Note: Students are responsible for all costs necessary for completing the course, including travel to the site location, costs of food and accommodations, and any commuting costs. Students are responsible for finding their own housing arrangements during Winter Study.
    • Students receiving financial aid are eligible to receive up to $1,000.  If sophomores, juniors, or seniors are working off-campus (outside of Berkshire County during winter study), they are eligible for a Dining Services Rebate.  For more information, please go to this link https://winterstudy.williams.edu/forms-and-applications.
    • In addition, students receiving financial aid can receive some assistance through the Career Access Fund.

  • For students submitting the CCE 21 Student Self-Sourced Winter Internship Application, you must have accepted a full-time winter internships 35-4o hours per week from Monday, January 6, 2025 - Friday, January 31, 2025.  Students will submit their applications via Airtable.  Please go to this link:  2025 SPEC 21 Student Self-Sourced Winter Internship Application

      • Students will include the internship supervisor's name, title, organization name, email address and phone number.
      • When the application is submitted the Winter Internship Supervisor Verification Form will be automatically be sent send via email to the internship supervisor.
      • The supervisor will review the student's information on the application, confirm the details, respond to some additional questions and submit the form.
      • You will upload your resume.
