The mission of Entrepreneurship@Williams is to foster the creative thinking process and give students the tools to develop and build out their ideas. The focus is much more on the early stages of idea development – the ideation process, customer discovery, refining, and networking rather than on executing a business plan. The best way to learn about and practice Entrepreneurship is to build a team or join a team working on an idea and see how far you can take it! There are many opportunities to do this – the annual Venture Pitch Competition, the Williams Summer Institute for Entrepreneurship, or just stopping by the office to discuss your idea and get started!
We also invite alumni guest speakers, visit startups on-site, and hold other events surrounding the startup world. The goal is to assist students in extending the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the classroom to real life experiences, helping them to become the next generation of thinkers and doers.
