THE CAREER EXPLORER’S GRANT IS NOW CLOSED. Thank you to all who applied! Decisions will be out by Wednesday, May 17 or Thursday, May 18, 2023.
In honor of the Class of 1968, the ‘68 Center for Career Exploration is thrilled to offer a special one-time grant opportunity to celebrate our namesake’s 55th reunion this year. The Class of 1968 Career Explorer’s Grant will award up to $2,000 (two thousand US dollars) for students participating in “micro-experiences” during the summer of 2023.
In order to be eligible, students must be currently enrolled and must be engaging in any of the following summer experiences:
- a short internship (less than 6 weeks and/or fewer than 35 hours a week);
- job shadowing;
- attending a skill-based bootcamp;
- attending a career-related conference;
- self-directed or independent research;
- other similar short-term opportunities.
Applications will be open until May 10 at which point a committee made up of ‘68 Center staff will review all submissions and make a determination based on the quality of the application and availability of funds. Decisions will be released by the following Wednesday, May 17. Winners will have 48 hours to accept their funding, at which point we will disburse the funds through direct deposit as soon as possible.
BE PREPARED FOR YOUR APPLICATION: Applicants will need to explain how their request will help them explore careers (either a career path they’re already pursuing, or one they are exploring for the first time), provide an itemized list of expenses, as well as upload a budget detailing the expenses their experience would incur. Students unfamiliar with creating their own budget document are welcome to use the ’68 Center’s Budget Template. Simply download a copy and fill in the cells as needed.
Interested students should apply here, and may feel free to reach out to Stephen Biegner (Operations & Funding Manager) with any specific questions. All class years are eligible to apply.
