Composting

Williams College Dining Services composts about 20 tons of food waste a year. Each day, food waste is sorted in to a separate waste stream in each dining hall. The waste is collected by a hauler and deposited in a dumpster in the B&G Agway site. Once a week, the contents of the dumpster are collected by a second hauler and taken to Holiday Farm where it is composted.

The composting program at Williams College has also allowed Williamstown Elementary School to compost in an economical manner by using the same hauling run to Holiday Farm.
