We further recommend that Williams:- Develop policies for sustainable development associated with new buildings. These policies should include requirements for environmental impact assessments, energy performance standards and minimizing building area.
- Allocate funding for an array of projects aimed at reducing emissions.
- Invest in measurement technology that will enable us to better understand our energy requirements and support initiatives to change our behavior patterns.
- Establish an office of sustainability, led by a director, to determine the most appropriate plan for implementation of the emissions reductions strategies, coordinate campus efforts and liaise with external parties.
- Monitor progress at intermediary milestones.
