Saint Ignatius School
Saint Ignatius School, a Jesuit-founded and sponsored middle school, provides an intense educational experience for first- and second-generation immigrant boys and girls in Hunts Point in the southwestern Bronx, the second poorest congressional district in the United States. Extremely dedicated teachers and administrators strive to educate the whole person of each of their charges. The school excels in preparing students for higher education and for leadership in the community.
Students placed at Saint Ignatius will work closely with the principal to learn how one runs an urban school facing many challenges; with an administrator engaged in recruiting local community organizations to participate in in the school’s mission; and directly with children in tutorials and enrichment programs.
