CARE USA
CARE is an international organization dedicated to providing community-based efforts to eradicate poverty and help poor people become self-sufficient. CARE operates a host of programs around the world, including efforts to increase agricultural productivity while preserving eco-systems; provide basic education for children, especially girls and young women; provide emergency relief in times of crisis; and heighten awareness of HIV/AIDS and other STDs and how to prevent infection. CARE also advocates at the United Nations on policy issues touching on its main mission.
Students placed at CARE have the opportunity to see how an international organization engaged in both on-the-ground humanitarian operations and advocacy works and to work with top advocates in international forums on the issue of world poverty.
