E.J. Johnson: Palazzo del Te Virtual Reality
In the spring of 2002, Professor EJ Johnson began an ambitious project to document important works of architecture using virtual reality and other new methods of digital media. Then seniors Michael and Barry Gross travelled to Mantua, Italy to film the Palazzo del Te, a great 16th century example of mannerist architecture by Giulio Romano. It was the "pleasure palace" of the Duke of Mantova, Federigo Gonzaga II. The tour is currently used in Art History 101 lectures and conferences.
