John Sayles Archive

This archive documents the continuing film, dramatic, and literary careers of John Sayles, b. 28 September 1950, Williams College Class of 1972. It was begun through the efforts of Frederick Rudolph, Williams Class of 1942, Mark Hopkins Professor of History Emeritus, and Ralph Renzi, Williams Class of 1943. Most of its contents are on deposit in the Chapin Library courtesy of John Sayles, supplemented with gifts by Frederick Rudolph and Ralph Renzi, and by Library purchases. The following is a preliminary inventory.
x xBooks and recordings by John Sayles owned by the Chapin Library are entered in the Williams College online library catalog FRANCIS. Some of the films written, produced, and directed by John Sayles are available on video in the Williams College Library. A filmography and a bibliography of John Sayles, to 1998, are contained in John Sayles, Filmmaker: A Critical Study of the Independent Writer-Director by Jack Ryan (Jefferson, N.C.: McFarland, 1998; Chapin PN1998.3.S3R9).
