Aaron (AJ) Jenkins is a Legislative Aide for US Senator John Kerry focusing on Medicare, Medicaid, HIV/AIDS, disabilities and health insurance issues. He conducts research on these healthcare topics, tracks legislation and disseminates the information to constituents during meetings and through written correspondence.
Previously, Aaron was a Legislative Analyst and a Summer Intern for Councilmember Adrian Fenty. He represented the Councilmember’s Office in policy briefings, community briefings and legislative sessions. He served as a liaison between constituents and government agencies in order to facilitate the delivery of government services. While a student at Williams, Aaron interned for Peyser Associates, a lobbying firm. He attended Capitol Hill briefings on behalf of the firm, and apprised the staff through written office memoranda.
Aaron received the distinguished honor of being elected by graduating seniors to become Class Speaker at the 2003 Williams College Commencement. He majored in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations and a concentration in African-American Studies. Aaron demonstrated his leadership at Williams by being a facilitator in the Williams College Community Builder Program and Windows on Williams (WOW). In addition, he was the Political Education/Cultural Coordinator for the Black Student Union a Co-Director of the Williams College Gospel Choir.
