The Health Professions Office is a source of counsel and support for students exploring interests in medicine, dentistry, public health, veterinary medicine, nursing, physical therapy, and other health-related fields.

Jane Cary, Director of Science and Technology Advising, helps those students interested in pursuing careers and graduate study in the sciences, including the health professions.

In a typical year, 60-70 Williams students apply to medical school, two to veterinary schools, zero or one to dentistry, a few to schools of public health, and perhaps a few more to all other fields combined.

This website, therefore, is focused primarily on applications to medical school.

All interested students are encouraged to meet with the Ms. Cary early in their Williams careers to begin a counseling relationship, seek advice beyond that in these pages, and formulate a thoughtful plan.
