DEADLINE: October 1
Class of 1945 Florence Chandler Fellowship awarded to: Emily Button ’07.
Provided through the generosity of the Class of 1945, this fellowship is awarded annually to a senior to support one year of post-graduate intellectual and personal development while living abroad. It does not support formal academic study but is meant to foster travel and learning that lead to an enhancement of international understanding.
The projects will be judged on the following criteria: viability, consistency with a student's current and past interests; suitability to a student's longer-range goals; and potential to improve some aspect of international understanding through learning about a different culture or cultures and by representing our own culture in the countries visited.
Williams seniors are eligible to apply. You will submit your project proposal and personal statement via Blackboard. Two letters of recommendation will be required. Interested applicants should review the Watson Fellowship webpage for information and selection criteria.
Candidates may submit the same application for the Chandler Fellowship and the Williams nomination for a Watson Fellowship. The winner of the Chandler Fellowship will be announced approximately April 1.
Jody works with students wanting to compete for national and Williams fellowships, both post-grad and summer. He also advises those interested in pursuing advanced study in the social sciences and humanities.
