Students may "drop-in" to see a tutor in the workshop during regular evening hours. However, at busy times it is wise to sign up for an appointment in advance at each of the locations of the Writing Workshop. Students can bring papers that are at any stage of the writing process, be it a polished draft, an outline, or just notes and ideas.

Murphy Wing

The Murphy Wing provides one-on-one tutoring for students over the course of an entire year or an entire semester.

Senior Thesis

Writing tutors also work with seniors on their honors theses.

Writing Assistants

Writing assistants are tutors who are assigned to a particular course. They help students in that course with their papers throughout the semester.

Elementary School

Writing tutors go to the Williamstown Elementary School and work with children on their writing. This work ranges from teaching kindergardeners how to form letters to introducing older students to the concept of an essay.

ABC House

Tutors go to the ABC house on a regular basis to assist students with their schoolwork.

CDE and ESL Tutoring

Tutors work individually with the fellows at the CDE as well as with other students for whom English is a second language.

Afterschool Program

The writing workshop provides an afterschool program for faculty children from the elementary school.
