Allan W. Fulkerson, Doctor of Laws
Beginning as a financial analyst, you worked your way through the ranks to become portfolio manager and eventually President and CEO of Century Capital Management, responsible for one of the country oldest and most respected mutual funds. Having developed a particular specialty in the field of risk management, you testify as an expert witness, lecture widely, and are called frequently by the nation’s business media for your insights. No organization, however, has benefited more from your knowledge and wisdom than Williams. Those qualities shined through your terms as Class President, Reunion Committee Chairman, President of the Society of Alumni, National Major Gifts Chairman in the previous comprehensive campaign, and in fifteen years service as Trustee. Most remarkably, as a visionary Chairman of the Board’s Finance Committee you oversaw the growth in the College’s endowment that enabled Williams to contemplate and embark upon its current strategic plan. The benefit of your work for all who graduate today and all who some day will follow them across this stage is truly beyond all measure.
I hereby declare you recipient of the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws, entitled to all the rights, honors, and privileges appertaining thereto.
