The purpose of this website is to inform Williams faculty, staff, students, and alumni about the progress of a multi-year effort to construct new office/teaching spaces, renovate Stetson Hall, and construct a new library/ IT center to replace Sawyer Library.
Initial planning for this project began in 1998. After a complex process of programming and design, the College has constructed two new office/classroom buildings and will soon commence construction of a new library/information technology complex attached to the rear of Stetson Hall. The project will conclude in 2011 with the razing of the existing Sawyer Library. The site currently occupied by Sawyer will become a green that links Stetson, the two new office/classroom buildings, Chapin Hall, and the new Paresky Center. The first phase of construction began early in 2007.
The Stetson-Sawyer Building Committee welcomes comments and suggestions from all members of the community. We hope that the information presented in this website will answer basic questions about the scope, methods, and direction of the project.
