The Whitney Museum of American Art
The Whitney Museum of American Art contains an extraordinarily extensive collection of the art of the United States dating from around 1900 to the present. In addition, the Whitney annually mounts important temporary exhibitions of the work of American artists, and every other year it presents a grand survey of recent art, the Whitney Biannual. The museum plans to construct a large addition to its landmark building by Marcel Breuer in the near future.
Students placed at the Whitney will work with the curatorial staff on the collection, on temporary exhibitions or, possibly, on planning for a Biannual.
