Bellevue Hospital

Bellevue Hospital is the oldest public hospital in America (founded in 1736). It has long been the nation's leader in emergency medical care services and in the care of medically underserved populations. The hospital is part of the New York University School of Medicine and hosts major research programs in medical toxicology, emergency medicine, and community health programs among many other specialties. The hospital’s psychiatric services are world-renowned.

Students placed at the Bellevue Hospital Center work with top medical professionals on their research projects and in their clinical practices. These include physicians working in psychiatry, dermatology, and sexually transmitted infections.
