New Century High Schools
The New Century High Schools initiative, funded through the Gates Foundation, is administered by New Visions for Public Schools, a nonprofit enterprise that works for educational reform in New York City high schools. New Century High Schools are innovative campuses of community-based small schools dedicated to rigorous academics, innovative teaching, personalized and supportive learning environments, and partnerships with community organizations.
Students placed in New Century High Schools will work closely with high-school principals and their community-organization counterparts to develop new educational strategies for inner-city youths.
