Manhattan Institute

The Manhattan Institute is one of the leading think tanks in the United States for the analysis of pressing urban issues. It is a New York City crossroads for politicians, city managers, intellectuals, and policy experts. The Institute works on a vast range of issues through its several centers. These include the centers for: civic innovation; legal policy; medical progress; race & ethnicity; rethinking development; and policing terrorism. The Institute is also engaged in education reform, housing reform, welfare reform, and crime reduction.

Students placed at the Manhattan Institute work closely with fellows of the Institute on their particular areas of expertise. They also have the opportunity to engage in the regular forums sponsored by the Institute that bring together public intellectuals and city leaders.
