District Attorney of New York

DANY is the premier district attorney's office in the United States. Headed by the legendary District Attorney Robert M. Morgenthau, the office has more than 500 assistant district attorneys who prosecute the more than 100,000 criminal cases recorded each year in New York County (Manhattan).

Students placed at DANY will work with several top prosecutors in the major trial bureaus as well as in some special units, such as those prosecuting homicide, sex crimes, and identity theft, in order to understand the whole range of prosecutorial work-from when police officers first report crimes to the district attorney, all the way through case construction and the preparation of evidence, to hearings and trial, and then appeals.
