We will look at the objects involved in these calculations, the gambler's fallacy, and the "Kelly Criterion."

Auditions for Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, or What You Will directed by Robert Baker-White. Sign up for a 5-minute audition slot at the theatre call board in the '62 Center. Performances will be March 11, 12, & 13. Rehearsals will begin at the start of second semester in February. Often considered the most antic of Shakespeare's comedies, Twelfth Night interweaves shipwreck with saturnalia, melancholy with mistaken identity, clowning with cross-dressing, and desire with desperation. Join the Countess Olivia, her wayward cousin Sir Toby Belch, the fervent Andrew Aguecheek, and the ever-resourceful Viola in a hilarious comedy that mocks the conventions of theatre, gender, society, and, of course, fashion.

Math/Stats Department Faculty Seminar by Professor Peter Pedroni. This study introduces several new tests for the presence of unit roots in time series panels based on nonparametric principles. The tests are unusual in that they can account for general unknown forms of cross sectional dependence, do not require choices with respect to the nuisance parameter treatments associated with temporal and cross sectional dependencies, and continue to retain high nite sample power in the presence of incidental trends.
