The Christian Science Organization provides an open space for spiritual discovery and exploration. We basically believe that everyone has the ability to OVERCOME material limitations (whether it be illness, fear, stress, anxiety or loneliness) by tapping into a spiritual law. This law, we believe, was taught by Jesus. He was telling us that, in reality, we have everything we need because we are taken care of and loved by a higher power. In other words, it's like we have all been left a big bank account, but only some of us know this and take out the money. The rest haven't been taught they can tap into these resources; instead they complain about how horrible the world is.
It comes down to a rather simple concept of mind over matter, of filling your thought with so many good things that nothing else can enter. For what takes hold of your thinking usually manifests itself into your experience. As Christian Scientists, we constantly remember that we are not alone and that there is a reason for our existence. We share testimonies, study the principles of this "spiritual law," and read articles so that we can help one another stay strong in a world that tries hard to pull us under. Students, faculty and members of the community are welcome at our org meetings, which take place Thursday nights, 8:30-9:30 in Paresky 112.
