Fellows live in the CDE building, a large, architecturally distinguished building on the College campus, convenient to all College facilities, or CDE-arranged college housing, unless they are accompanied by family members. The CDE building contains a classroom, computer labs, dining room, communal kitchen, bedrooms, common living rooms, recreational space and administrative offices under one roof. The interaction among fellows made possible by this arrangement is a unique feature of the CDE program.

Some dining is required at the CDE while other meals can be eaten in any of several College dining halls, or prepared in the CDE communal kitchen, where fellows enjoy the opportunity to cook some of their favorite recipes and share them with fellow classmates.

While the winters can be long and the academics rigorous, fellows still manage to have a good time. Whether there is a scheduled campus-wide event, an event specifically designed for CDE fellows, or spontaneous playing in the snow, fellows are able to participate in a full range of College and CDE academic and social activities.
