Heather’s interest in art grew out of an appreciation for local Hudson River Valley
history while attending Bard College in upstate New York. This eventually led her to
fully explore 19th and early 20th century American architecture and to dabble in the
field of Historic Archaeology.
Though always devoted to regional history, Heather dedicated much of her time as an undergraduate to the study of Romanesque architecture and sculpture, and more specifically, the art of the medieval French and Spanish pilgrimage routes. This culminated in a grant-funded research project in the summer of 2004 in preparation for her senior thesis. She graduated from Bard in 2005 with a BA in Art History.
Before joining the Visual Resources Center staff in October of 2006, Heather spent a year navigating the streets of midtown Manhattan as a Rockefeller Center tour guide.
