BICENTENNIAL MEDALS
The Bicentennial Medals program was established in 1993, in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Williams College, to honor "distinguished achievement in any field of endeavor." Eligible candidates include alumni, current and former faculty and staff, students and parents.

COPELAND AWARD
Established in 1978, the Fred Copeland Award honors the alumni volunteer who most effectively represents Williams to secondary schools and potential students. Fred, a member of the Class of 1935, headed the College's admission program for 31 years.

EPHRAIM WILLIAMS MEDAL
The Ephraim Williams Medal, in honor of the College's founder, is given from time to time to a non-alumnus of Williams that has demonstrated exceptional service and loyalty to the College.

THE KELLOGG AWARD
The Kellogg Award is named for James C. Kellogg, a member of the Class of 1937 who made his mark in financial circles and became chairman of the New York Stock Exchange in 1956. It is presented each year to a Williams graduate with a similarly distinguished career.

THURSTON BOWL
The Thurston Bowl is awarded for distinguished service as class secretary. It was given by the family and friends of Ted Thurston, Class of 1912, who wrote Class Notes for 65 years. During that time, Ted missed only one deadline --because he forgot to mail his completed notes to the magazine.

JOSEPH'S COAT AWARD
Presented to a member of the Old Guard Classes (post 50th classes) during Reunion Weekend, this honor is bestowed annually upon a member who is held in high esteem by both the College and his fellow alumni. The coat was modeled after an eye-catching green coat worn by alumni secretary Charles B. Hall '15 at a winter homecoming and alumni fund drive meeting in 1951. The coat, first presented in 1952, should be the "loudest, liveliest, flashiest" in reference to the Biblical Joseph's coat of many colors.

ROGERSON CUP AWARD
This is the College's highest award for alumni service. Donated by the family and friends of Jimmy Rogerson, class of 1892, the Cup symbolizes outstanding loyalty, achievement, and service in the name of Williams College. It was first presented in 1936 and is awarded each year at the Annual Meeting of the Society of Alumni.
