  • Letter from Chair of the Alumni Fund Sey Zimmerman ’71

    Dear Fellow Volunteers for Williams:

This year each of you, along with 1500 fellow volunteers, will continue an almost 200-year tradition of supporting the College through your efforts to advance the Alumni Fund. It is through the efforts and support of generations of alumni that the College survived an early crisis and developed into the pre-eminent liberal arts college that it is today. Together we help keep alive the dream that the College’s best days are ahead and that there are ambitions yet to be met.

For some of you, this year will mark the start of the third, fourth or fifth decade of dedicated service. For others this will be an entirely new experience. I want to thank each of you for volunteering for our 2006 Alumni Fund campaign. To those new volunteers, I hope you will find the continuing connection with your classmates rewarding and that the successful completion of an important task gives you the same satisfaction that motivates those with years of consistent service.

Last year’s results were phenomenal. With your dedication and energy we can build upon that effort and assure that the Alumni Fund helps the College meet the five-year Williams Campaign goal.

I am honored to serve as the volunteer head of this effort. I hope that each of you will feel freeto contact me with comments, suggestions, or problems as these efforts continue.

Once again, thank you for your service to the College.

    Yours very truly,
    Sey Zimmerman ’71
