There are no skyscrapers, busy subways or unruly taxis in Williamstown. Students are not getting lost in a large urban metropolis, but rather take advantage of the intimacy of the small setting and really create a strong sense of community. Students create the social climate at Williams, and it is an active one. There are a ton of events open to everyone, virtually cost-free. While the students do many of the events planning, organizing and staffing for all-campus parties, the college subsidizes much of the cost associated with campus entertainment.
The typical weekend at Williams has more events planned than most students have time to attend. Early Saturday morning you might catch a Williams student out and about showing school spirit and supporting their peers at a sporting event. Later on in the evening, the same student might be performing in an a capella concert or showcasing art work in the college museum. At the end of such a busy day, a student might find themselves attending an all-campus party, catching a recently released film in one of our lecture halls with stadium seating, or hanging out with friends in dormitory common space or the snack bar.
From guest speakers and lecturers that arrive almost daily, to comedians and hypnotists, theatre and dance performances, concerts, art exhibitions and just hanging out with fellow Ephs, students find that there is rarely a dull moment on campus.
