Educational/ professional background
- New England Campus Security Officer Training Academy at Bates College - a week-long training which covers a variety of campus safety issues. Some topics include fire safety; computer crimes; hate crimes and civil rights issues; crime prevention; responding to the emotionally disturbed and controlling aggressive behavior; generational differences; drug recognition; bomb recognition and federal firearm regulations. In addition, the training provides background on campus safety, patrol procedures, law enforcement mediation, report writing and interviewing, and community problem solving.
- International Police Mountain Bike Association Training - the program provides skills for safe and effective use of the bicycle in police and EMS work.
- CPR/First Aid, AED, Bloodborne Pathogen Certified (annually)
- Management of Aggressive Behavior training - the program teaches principles, techniques, and skills for recognizing, reducing, and managing violent and aggressive behavior, as well as teaching humane and compassionate methods of dealing with aggressive people.
- Commonwealth of Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training
- Employed full-time as a District Court Officer in Berkshire County
- Previously worked as a full-time Campus Safety & Security Officer at Williams College for many years, before becoming a full time Court Officer.
- Returned to Williams in 2007 as a part-time officer
