Procedures for Local Residents to Audit Courses

The College is pleased to allow local residents to audit courses without any fee on a space available basis under the following conditions:

• The instructor must approve and he or she will decide upon the level of your participation, e.g., whether or not you should engage in class discussions, take tests, etc.
  
• There will be no academic record produced.
  
• There will be no method for verifying participation to outside agencies.

In order to assist you, the Registrar's Office will give you a copy of the most recent Courses of Instruction as long as the supply lasts. If there are no copies available for distribution, an "office copy" will always be available for use in the Registrar's Office. You will also be given a copy of the "Classroom Directory" which provides the names of instructors and the times and rooms for all courses. The staff will also help you to locate instructors' offices and/or telephone numbers.

In summary, then, you should contact the instructor and work out the details of your participation since the arrangements are really between the two of you.

We have done everything we can to keep the procedures simple so that we can provide this opportunity free of charge. If you need materials or services not mentioned above, there will be a fee.
