JAPN 301(F), 302(S) Third-Year Japanese*
This course is a continuation of Japanese 201, 202, further developing the
four skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The same general
methodology will be used. Upon completing the course, students will have
been introduced to all the major structural patterns of contemporary Japanese
and will have begun emphasis on vocabulary building through the study of
situationally oriented materials stressing communicative competence. The
reading of expository prose of intermediate difficulty will also receive
some attention.
Evaluation will be based on daily performance, homework, quizzes, a midterm,
and a final exam. Prerequisite: Japanese 202 or permission of instructor.
