REL 401(F)-402(S) Issues in the Study of Religion
To be conducted as a working seminar or colloquium. Major issues in the study of religious thought and behavior will be taken up in a cross cultural context enabling the student to consolidate and expand perspectives gained in the course of the major sequence. Topics will vary from year to year. In keeping with the seminar framework, opportunity will be afforded the student to pursue independent reading and research. Fall 1998 topic: Religion and Economics. Spring 1999 topic: Gender, Ethnicity and Identity Formation. Requirements: class reports, papers, and substantial research projects. Prerequisite: senior major status or permission of the instructor.
