CHIN 301(F), 302(S) Third Year Chinese*

This course is designed to further expand students' speaking, comprehension, reading, and writing skills. The emphases of the course include advanced conversation, introduction to newspaper Chinese, and introduction to modern Chinese literature. Both simplified and traditional character texts will be used. Classes consist of reading, discussion, and conversation practice. Evaluation will be based on classroom performance, compositions, tests, a midterm, and a final exam. Conducted in Mandarin. Two 75-minute lectures plus a 1-hour conversation session. Prerequisite: Chinese 202 or permission of instructor.
