This course is designed to encourage students to become more responsive readers of literature through the close study of a small number of works, with frequent written exercises. The emphasis is on learning how to read different types of imaginative literature, especially poetry, Shakespearean drama, and fiction. No prerequisites. Enrollment limit: 19 (expected: 19). Preference to first year students.
