PSYC 221(S) Cognitive Psychology

A survey of the experimental analysis of the mental processes. Topics include memory, visual perception, attention, problem-solving, reasoning, language, and unconscious processes. Special emphasis is on the interdisciplinary nature of cognitive psychology, including contributions from computer science, neuroscience, and philosophy. Format: lecture. Requirements: a midterm, a final exam, and a short paper. Prerequisite: Psychology 101. Open to first-year students. No enrollment limit (expected: 60).
