ARAB 301(F), 302(S) Advanced Arabic
This course is a continuation of Intermediate Arabic. It focuses on expanding the students'
knowledge of vocabulary and grammar while stressing the development of reading, spoken,
and written skills in Modern Standard Arabic. The material covered in class will include
lessons from the Al-Kitaab series, as well as literary and multi-media works. Emphasis will
be placed on increasing cultural literacy. Class is conducted in Arabic.
Format: The class meets four hours a week with the fourth hour a conversation section, time
to be arranged. Requirements: active class participation, completion of all written assignments, quizzes, a midterm, and a final exam.
Prerequisites for 301: Two semesters of Intermediate Arabic or permission of the instructor.
Prerequisites for 302: Arabic 301 or permission of the instructor. No enrollment limit (expected: 8).
