About OPA
The Office of Public Affairs serves to promote the achievements and activities of Williams College to the general public and the media through print and electronic materials and the college web site.
OPA finds and develops newsworthy stories about the college and its people, assists reporters to develop their own stories, and provides strategic communications consulting to college programs and departments.
Reporters are welcome to contact OPA to assist with your queries. Williams is a private campus; please review our guidelines (www.williams.edu/admin/news/resources) for information regarding on-campus camera crews, photography, or interviews. Williams College maintains an ISDN studio for remote feeds to radio stations. It does not offer television broadcast facilities.
OPA publishes Fast Facts about Williams; At Williams, a public events calendar; and the First-Year Parents' Handbook. It maintains an online collection of the college's Daily Messages and distributes a monthly email publication Williams Wire, a collection of news and notes about the college. For Commencement and Reunion, it also publishes a 24-page newspaper called On Campus with articles about the college and its activities during the year. In addition, OPA is responsible for producing and maintaining content for key areas of the Williams web site, including the home page and news releases.
