Winter Study
Faculty Sponsored Travel Courses
Financial Aid Recipients may have 50-90% of their travel course covered by financial aid based on the level of aid from Williams. You can divide your calculated financial need by your academic year budget to determine the percentage covered - minimum is 50% and maximum is 90%. The charge for your course and your financial aid will be applied to your student account.
99's
Financial Aid Recipients may receive 75%, up to a maximum of $500, of their costs covered by financial aid. Submit the Financial Aid Form electronically from the Winter Study 99 Project section on the Registrar's website. You will receive a check for your 99 financial aid.
Thesis
Financial Aid Recipients may receive 75%, up to a maximum of $500, of their costs covered by financial aid. Complete and submit the Winter Study Financial Aid Cost Evaluation Form: Thesis directly to the Office of Financial Aid. You will receive a check for your 99 financial aid.
Regular Courses
Financial Aid Recipients may receive 75%, up to a maximum of $300, of their costs covered by financial aid. No separate application is required; we will obtain enrollment lists from the Registrar and the Winter Study aid will be applied to your student account in January.
Some regular courses function like a 99; therefore, they require students to complete a Winter Study Financial Aid Cost Evaluation Form: Regular. Currently, the following regular courses are considered to function like a 99:

Living Off-Campus for 2009-2010?
Your financial aid budget will be calculated using the same room and board charges for students who live on campus. It is assumed that your costs for rent, utilities, and food will be similar, if not the same, as the cost of Williams room and board, $5,280 and $5,110 respectively. Since some financial aid students find that part of their rent and food expenses are covered by their Williams scholarship, you must make arrangements with the Bursar’s Office to receive a refund of your excess financial aid credits, if this applies to your situation.
