Williams College 1914 Memorial Library

Vouchers

Vouchers may not be shared, and are valid for one month (the expiration date is printed on the label).

If you don't spend the entire $60 on your first trip to the bookstore, you can get a credit voucher for the balance. However, the credit must be used before the voucher expires.

If you need to return a book that was purchased with a voucher, you have until the end of drop/add period to do so. You will receive a credit voucher for the returned book which must be used before it expires, and the credit amount cannot exceed the original $60.

Your out-of-pocket expense for a returned voucher book is not refundable.

Books

Students in line to borrow books The 1914 Library generally has 60% of all required titles each semester. However, there are a limited number of books so it is first-come, first-served, and only students on Financial Aid are entitled to borrow from the Library. If the Library does not have all of the books in stock that a student needs, the student will receive a $60 voucher to buy textbooks at Water Street Books. If a course requires a very expensive book (more than $100) that the Library does not have and the book qualifies as a voucher book, students can request to convert their voucher into an Expensive Book Voucher which will pay the entire cost of that one book.

All books borrowed from the Library's collection and those purchased with a voucher can be kept for the entire semester. Any books that are not returned at the end of the semester are charged to the student's account along with a $10 fine per book.
